At the Crossroads of Medicine, Spirituality & Ethics:
American medicine’s success at fighting disease and extending life has created an end-of-life journey that is typically accompanied by a great deal of suffering. Suffering that is physical in nature for the patient, but also social, emotional, spiritual and financial for both patients and their families. As a consequence, those of us who care for the dying must learn to skillfully create environments in which this vulnerable population can complete the most meaningful end-of-life goals – saying the things that need to be said and doing the things that need to be done.
About the conference:
This conference will help attendees better understand the complexities of modern dying; the various challenges faced by patients, families and providers during this trying time; and most importantly, acquire the skills necessary to navigate these murky waters. Our program features a variety of presentations by national and regional experts as well as networking opportunities, exhibits, and more.
