The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) recently sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) urging Congress to take immediate action to prevent the one percent Medicare payment cut set to go into effect on July 1, 2022. With hospices already facing potentially devastating financial pressures, the NPHI request stresses the negative consequences of the cut and strongly encourages Congress to avert the reduction before it’s too late. NPHI was joined by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC), and LeadingAge in sharing these sentiments with Congressional leaders.
